My stepdad is getting up there in years and gets cold pretty easily so I decided to make him a throw that was the plushest of plush. And a generous size – most throws are so small that if you want to cover your feet, you are uncovered from the chest up. So I made a big throw in the plushest yarn I could find, Bernat Blanket. It ended up being a little over six by six feet. It was mostly double crochet with some front and back post double crochet near the sides, for texture. This project used seven balls and an N/8mm hook.
One thing about this particular yarn is it resists the crocheting process. It has a nap that pulls, which puts additional strain on the left hand. I recommend taping up your left index finger before starting a project with this yarn. Will your hands get tired? Yes they will.
A big blanket and a kitty miffed at not getting her lap time.
