I can’t remember what prompted me to make these. A discussion? A photo I saw? Both?
At any rate, for whatever reason, I felt compelled to crochet some pumpkins:
This is the pattern I used:
The resulting pumpkin was very small (the smallest in this picture); only about four inches across. Also, I thought the single crochet made it a bit knobbly. So I made a couple more, using half double-crochet and more and wider rows (three sets of ten – increase, same, decrease – for the large one and nine for the medium one).
My one regret was following the directions and stuffing the stem for the largest pumpkin. The resulting shape was rather unsatisfactory.
By the way, in case you thought my fall craft projects were purely cute and whimsical…
