Last Christmas, my mum gave me several skeins of Patons Canadiana yarn in Teal Heather. (Yes, it took me this long to figure out what I wanted to make with it…) And after crocheting several items for gifts, I thought I’d take a break and make something for me, particularly with the weather getting cooler.
After weeks of searching for a pattern that would use the amount of yarn I had, I settled on this one:
This pattern was easy to follow and the cardigan worked up very quickly. I did make a couple of changes, though. For the front collar piece, I used half double-crochet rather than back loop single-crochet; I did this because otherwise, the ridges would have all faced up on one side of the sweater and down on the other, which would have bugged me. Also, I didn’t add any fringe, because that would have bugged me, too. But otherwise, I really liked this pattern.
At any rate, here’s how mine turned out:

Right now, I’m working on the second-to-last Christmas gift. I’ll post about them after the holidays, which will probably require several posts. Fingers and toes crossed that they like them!
